Wild Wild West, Prop Smith & Wesson Revolver

 A little gem of a prop is this 1862 Smith & Wesson Model 2 Army revolver from the Peterson Collection, purchased from Stembridge Gun Rentals. It was Lot # 275 from the big 2007 sale, sold with rental receipt from THE LONE RANGER TV Show. It\'s last use was in the 1999 WILD WILD WEST movie, now rechromed, blued and pearl grips added, in the gun case. In reality, the gun was a popular side arm of Civil War soldiers and was favored and carried by Custer and Wild Bill Hickok. Other STEMBRIDGE receipts show use in HOW THE WEST WAS WON. There, it is used by Gregory Peck, and seen in close up when he bets it during the poker game in the wagon, just before the Indian attack. When he is is mounting the team on the runaway wagon, it is in his waist band.
