Gladiator, Prop Flaming Arrow

This is a prop flaming arrow used in Director Ridley Scotts epic historical drama GLADIATOR starring Russell Crowe.  The wooden arrow measures approximately 28 inches in lenth and includes fletching.  The head is covered with hessian which is secured in place by string and would have been ignited to produce the flame.  These arrows can be seen in the opening scene of the film when the Roman archers battled with the Barbarians of Germania.

The arrow remains in fine production-used condition and is mounted inside a custom framed display with corresponding stills and a descriptive plaque.  The original owners brother appeared in the film and this piece is accompanied by an associated production photograph taken on location.
