This is my replica US M1 steel pot worn by Private 'Joker' Davis in Full Metal Jacket. The helmet is a genuine Vietnam era pot with an exact copy of a period Mitchell cover. The helmet band is the black rubber used by the USMC, I may need to just trim it a little to narrow it further. The matchbook & toilet paper in the helmet band are also from a genuine Vietnam era MRE. The peace badge is a similar genuine 70's version of the one seen in the film.
The cover has been weathered with layers of fullers earth and watered down gouache paints to give it the jungle-worn feel.
