Gladiator, Praetorian Guard Sword and Shealth

Pumped about the arrival of this exquisite prop from Ridley Scott's Oscar winning historical epic GLADIATOR.
This is a sword wielded by the Praetorian Guard, an elite unit of the Imperial Roman Army, as Commodus' personal bodyguards.
The sword comprises a metal blade; a black-painted wooden hilt decorated with a brass coloured band around the guard which is decorated with the engraved letters "SPQR" ("Senatus Populusque Romanus", or "The Roman Senate and People"); and a rounded pommel.
Finished in black paint, scabbard is made of wood wrapped in canvas, with metal hardware and a brown leather strap. The lot displays signs of wear, including scratches and small dents in the blade, and scuffing and paint wear on the scabbard's canvas.
