Mrs. Parkington, Portrait of Susie Parkington
replica set dressing / pieces
This is a replica of the portrait of Susie Parkington (as played by Greer Garson) in the 1944 film, “Mrs. Parkington.” This huge painting (89” x 51”) stood at the head of the stairs of the Parkington home. The original painting showed the character’s hair as black. Following the end of filming, scenic department artist, Clem Hall, repainted the hair to match Greer Garson’s offscreen color of flaming red. The painting was also used in the 1949 film, "That Forsyte Woman," which also starred Greer Garson. This painting sold at the first Debbie Reynolds Auction for $8,500.
