Don't Say A Word, Plastic Ruby Prop

A plastic prop ruby used in the 2001 thriller "Don’t Say a Word". This red pear shaped ‘jewel’ can be seen throughout the film, and the plotline is developed around this tiny object; Elizabeth’s (Brittany Murphy) father has double crossed his partner and hidden this jewel somewhere only his disturbed daughter can remember.

 

This plastic prop ruby was used when a close up wasn’t needed. Measures 1.5cm (0.6”) in length.

A great item from this fantastic movie! Brittany Murphy´s performance is outstanding and the plot is too, but took a very long time to make it from script to screen. Masterpieces need time.. [by Lena Mueck ]
