ALMOST A CHARACTER IN ITSELF, this is T-Bag's chopped off hand, a unique, intrically made, close-up prop. "T-Bag's hand" was unattached and reattached a couple of times during the series, and this was the hand prop(!) used during those scenes.
.
Serial killer/pedophile Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell (actor Robert Knepper) escapes from Illinois' fictitious Fox River Prison, along with seven other inmates, making up the Fox River Eight. In order to ensure his safety, the hated T-Bag handcuffs himself to leader Michael Scofield, knowing that it will keep fellow escapee (and T-Bag hater) John Abruzzi from killing him. In a fit of rage, Abruzzi chops off Bagwell's cuffed hand with an axe, seriously wounding him and leaving him for dead. Despite this, Bagwell survives and eludes capture. T-Bag's last scene of the first season features the character staggering through the woods with his severed hand tucked into his armpit, police and helicopters hot in pursuit. This unique prop also pops up in Season 2, where it is reattached, then cut off again (the second time by T-Bag himself!)
Interesting collage found on the internet. TV GUIDE called T-Bag 'the creepiest character in the history of television.' Can't say I disagree. - - - - - -
