Original prop 'treasure chest' used on TV's classic THE ADDAMS FAMILY (Filmways 1964-66) in episode #53 THE GREAT TREASURE HUNT. In the episode, the Family searches for "Peg Leg" Addams' pirate treasure chest, with the aid of an old map found in the mansion. The chest is found in the caves under the house, filled with chocolate doubloons, much to Uncle Fester's delight! This chest was a Hollywood rental unit, and probably dates back to the 1930s; what production it was originally made for, I have yet to figure out.-----------(courtesy Back Lot Charlie collection)
