To produce this phaser, I upgraded an Art-Asylum toy phaser. I replaced the plastic beam-emitter with a machined aluminum unit with a rotating control collar, installed a metal trigger, heat-fins, control dial, and P-I release pin. The P-I is still removable and all 'power settings' still functional. The screw-holes in the P-II body were filled in & sanded smooth to make the phaser look a little less like a toy and the P-II body was given a new paint job.
