Hot For Paris, Original painting of Victor McLaglen
original production artwork
A small oil on canvas, of a then young Victor McLaglen, in one of his first sound pictures, a musical done at FOX, now lost. The painting is attributed to Norton Gaston, who with his two brothers, worked out of the FOX Long Beach theater location, and painted artwork used for posters, premieres and trade papers (see our large WARNER OLAND as Charlie Chan). The film was directed by Raoul Walsh, and most likely had John Wayne among the crew, just as Walsh noticed him moving furniture and decided to make him an actor. All three would go on to make many films together.
