Clash of the Titans, Original Royal Argos Guards Shield

A Royal shield of Argos used in the 1981 Ray Harryhausen movie The Clash of The Titans. Fabricated from wood with a brass coloured metal bird design added to the front, the back has two handles for the actors to hold the shield by. The shield measures 64cm (25”). These shields can be seen clearly at the beginning of the film when King Acrisius of Argos condemns Danae and the baby Perseus to the sea only to be punished by the Gods.
