Mortal Kombat Conquest, Original Master Sculpt Scorpion Kunai Serpent

original movie prop

On our never ending quest to track down these old Mortal Kombat treasures and has slowly been paying off over the years… and even more so, documenting these relics along the way! We recently found this original Scorpion serpent/kunai sculpt that was then molded to make the final version which would have been sent off to production for the best-worst TV series in history, Mortal Kombat Conquest (why didn’t they spell it with a K? 🤔). The prop maker was given the sketch (given to me as well, scanned photo attached) to make it from, which resembles the 1995 film design but was grossly destroyed by 90’s budget CGI 😖

This head actually would have been used to go on the end of a cable that wrapped around the actor to pull or lift him IIRC. This piece made it look like the cable was the snake and it was biting the actor (screen caps added)

The 1995 movie serpent head sculpt and animation screen grabs are added as well, which I have attempted to locate with no luck. We have even contacted the animation company who said they believe the studio has it. So if that ends up being the case, this Conquest sculpt may be the closest piece to an original MK serpent production sculpt we will find.

We also received several production artwork pieces, as well as the prop maker’s original invoices. This was an amazing find overall! It’s amazing how he retained all of these elements over all of these years!! Enjoy!
