Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Mint Hotel Key

This prop came from someone who's mom worked on the set of Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas. When Hunter S. Thompson played by Johnny Depp, checks into the Mint Hotel there is a rack of keys behind the front desk. The key came from there. I have done a screen match to the keys used on the movie. But I cant really authenticate that it was from the movie because there was a real mint hotel. It closed down in 1988. I cant find any info as to what the real keys from the hotel looked like.
