55 Days At Peking, Miniature Cannon

A small wood model of a Chinese siege gun made for the miniature set of the epic Samuel Bronston film. Carved in the form of a horned dragon, the full size piece apprears late in the film as the Boxer's are closing in on the city. A troubled production, it was filmed in Spain where Bronston built a huge replica of Peking to great accuracy. This model, with plaque, most likely was a gift.
