Michael Raisin (TV commercial), Michael Jackson Raisin Puppet
original movie prop
In July 1989, Will Vinton Studios created the puppet known as Michael Raisin; the newest claymation member of the Raisin Family appearing in the TV commercial “Michael Raisin”. Michael Jackson’s speaking voice was used in the ads, but his singing voice on the song, “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” could not be used because of his exclusive contract with Pepsi. Michael agreed to lend his image to the commercial after working with the claymation creator on his ‘Moonwalker’ video, and receives $25,000 for his contribution which he donated to charity. This is a hero Michael Raisin puppet used for the commercial and only one known to exist is this condition. Along with the condition being pristine when considering his age, unlike any other existing puppets he is also complete with his signature hat, shoes, belt and microphone portraying the pop icon.
