One Life To Live, Mendorran Royal Flag

original movie prop

This item is from the hit ABC soap opera “One Life To Live” that started in 1968. This item is a long black and white royal flag from the country of Mendorra. The flag has the Mendorran royal crest printed on it with a large M and a mythical creature. You can see these flags hung in the castle halls of the Mendorran castle. The made-up country of Mendorra was first brought up on the show in the early 90’s with the characters of Prince Raymond and Dorian Lord. Since then the country has still come up a few times over the years and on June 26, 2008 to August 2008 some of the characters of the show returned to Mendorra. Talia Sahid (BethAnn Bonner) was kidnapped along with a few other Llanviewers because her evil father, Carlo Hesser, wanted her to marry Jonas Chamberlain against her own will. If Talia married Jonas then she would become Princess of Mendorra and her father could rule the country. With the help of Talia’s kidnapped friends the marriage never happened and she fled the country. In order to become truly free, Talia made it appear to the public that her father and Jonas were longtime lovers. They both were arrested for fraud and Talia went back to Llanview.
This item was bought at the very last Disney's ABC Super Soap Weekend in November 2008 in Orlando, Florida. They have a huge prop and costume store opened for the event selling items from the following shows: One Life To Live, General Hospital, and All My Children. This item comes with a wardrobe tag included!
