Max Da Costa's (Matt Damon) Locket from Neil Blomkamp's 2013 dystopian thriller, Elysium. In the distant future, Earth has become an overpopulated wasteland for the poor, while the wealthy live above in a utopian space station known as Elysium. When a factory worker named Max is exposed to a lethal dose of radiation on Earth, he embarks on a dangerous mission to infiltrate Elysium in order to obtain a cure before it's too late. Max is given a locket as a child, and holds onto it throughout the film. This particular style of the locket features a brown leather cord, indication that it was held by Max as an adult, rather than in the early scenes in which it has a metal chain. The locket features a metal casing with multiple crosses engraved on the inside of the lid. Inside the locket is a small photograph of the planet earth, to remind Max of where he came from.
