This is Matt Jefferies' copy of the Star Trek "bible" or guide for the original series, signed on the cover by Mr. Jefferies. The guide talks about the show, characters, and even has a "quiz" for prospective writers to take to see how they think the characters would react to a Trek situation. The guide was used by writers on the show so that they would not write something that a character would not do or so that they would not step outside of the "boundaries" that Gene Roddenberry had laid out for the show.
