Catch Me If You Can, Letter sent from frank abagnale jr to his dad
original movie prop
The Hero Letter and Envelope from Frank Abagnale Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio) to his Father (Christopher Walken) from the 2002 film Catch Me If You Can. Based upon the real-life con-artist Frank Abagnale Jr., this film follows Frank as he evades Detective Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks) while conning millions of dollars in bogus checks from his careers as a pilot for Pan Am, a lawyer, and doctor.
This hero piece can be seen in the film when Agent Hanratty comes to Abagnale Sr.’s home in pursuit of young Frank, and finds a letter from the fugitive on the table. This prop can be screen matched by sight specific ink smudges and markings on the paper. The white envelope features Abagnale Sr.’s address in the middle of it, as well as Abagnale Jr.’s return address in the upper-left corner and a 5₵ George Washington postage stamp. Inside is a letter printed on gray construction paper with the note type-written and signed “Love, Frank” in black ink.
This items remain in excellent, production-used condition.
