Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Les Perruches Painting by Jean Dupas
replica movie prop
Indys painting over the fireplace as seen in his apartment is a variation of Jean Dupas (French, 1882–1964) painting "Les Perruches" from 1925.
Perhaps it was altered for copywrite reasons, but the original has the same reclining nude and the girl in the blue dress, but two figures above: the woman in the black dress and the blonde looking away coyly, have been swapped. An additional nude with red hair is missing, but the tree, the doves are all exact. The original is way bigger as the one Indy have in his possession.
Also, sometimes the artist does variations on their own themes, so it is possible that it was painted by him and not a copy. Personally, I think it is a copy because this painting is known as one of the quintessential Art Deco (known as Modern or Moderne at that time -art deco was coined in 1925, but wasn't used until the 1960s).
This one is an original painting painstakingly redrawn to match the screen used version. It also have the same size as the one over the fireplace.
