Big Fish, Key to the City
original movie prop
The film Big Fish revolves around a dying father and his son who is trying to learn more about his dad by piecing together the stories he has gathered over the years. The son winds up re-creating his father's elusive life in a series of legends and myths inspired by the few facts he knows. Through these tales, the son begins to understand his father's great feats and his great failings. As a teenager, Edward Bloom (Ewan McGregor) is a star athlete, entrepreneur, and local hero when a mysterious "monster" comes to town and eats livestock during the night. Ed volunteers to track down the culprit, talk to it and ask it to leave the city; shortly after he finds a gloomy but goodhearted giant named Carl (Matthew McGory), and convinces him to move to a bigger city. Edward explains that Ashton is too small a town for men of Carl's size and of Edward's ambition. The two leave town and Edward is given the key to the city of Ashton by the mayor. This is the Hero screen used key to the city that was rewarded to young Ed Bloom for “taming the giant” who was terrorizing the villagers and the main prop seen in the film.
