Drive, Irene's (Carey Mulligan) Screen Worn Costume

This costume was worn by the character "Irene" portrayed by actress Carey Mulligan, in the 2011 motion picture, "Drive." The outfit consists of an off-white tank top with orange and navy trim, a blue skirt, and a blue and white cotton jacket. Irene wore the outfit near the climactic finale of the film when she and Driver (Ryan Gosling) share an elevator ride. When Driver realizes that the man they are in the elevator with is a hitman sent by Bernie (Albert Brooks) and Nino (Ron Perlman), he gives Irene a quick kiss and violently kills the man by repeatedly stomping on his head. "Drive" has been called a tough, hard-edged neo-noir film, extremely violent and very stylized. Nicolas Winding Refn, the director, has stated that the elevator scene is the pivotal moment in the film because it is when Driver turn into a superhero and kills the reprobates.
