Star Trek: Insurrection, Insurrection Phaser - Unused Concept Model

This is an unused concept model for the phasers in ST: Insurrection. The paperwork on this states it was to be called a "Phaser II Mk IX". A handful were apparently made for approval but were subsequently rejected. The phaser butt has an ID plaque (ala "The Undiscovered Country" phasers) which states "USS Enterprise/NCC-1701-E" with a serial number of "0011"). One assumes the "hatch" on the bottom is probably the dilithium crystal or power source chamber. This phaser bears a strong resemblance in the head area to the TNG Season 3 concept drawing made by Sternbach ("The Art of Star Trek", p. 105).
