Highlander III: The Sorcerer, Highlander 3 Katana
replica movie prop weapon
‘The legendary sword was made by Masamune in 593 B.C. and given to the Spaniard (originally Egyptian) Immortal, Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez, Chief Metallurgist to King Charles V of Spain, and later inherited by Connor MacLeod.’
As one of the most recognizable swords in film history, the Highlander film sword is a Japanese katana mounted with a carved “ivory” grip – representing a dragonhead pommel and the dragon’s tail wrapped around. The body of the grip is carved with scenes from Japanese life.
At least three versions of this sword have been made for use on film.
