original movie prop
A special effects wrist blade used by Aguilar (Michael Fassbender) in Justin Kurzel’s adventure film Assassin’s Creed. When Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) is submitted to an experiment involving the Animus, a machine that has been developed to relive genetic memories, he soon discovers he is a descendant of the mysterious society, the Assassins. Experiencing the adventures of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, the Assassins take on the tyrannical Templars and search for the relic that is, the ‘Apple of Eden’. This wrist blade and was used by Aguilar throughout the film, but was most noticeably seen when Callum is hooked into the Animus, with both blades projecting out on both wrists. Hidden wrist blades were the signature weapon used by members within the Assassin Brotherhood. This particular blade would have been used for scenes in which the blade comes out of its hidden housing. The majority of this wrist blade is made from plastic and has been finished in a dark grey to give the appearance of metal. The front of the blade cover is intricately decorated with patterns and pieces made from resin, and have been hand painted with lots of detail. The back of the wrist blade features a strip of black duct tape that has been placed over a plastic tube that contains a long piece of wire, which when pulled with some force causes the blade to spring out of its housing.
