Troy, Hector's (Eric Bana) Gauntlets
original movie costume
Hector's (Eric Bana) Gauntlets from Wolfgang Petersen's 2004 period epic, Troy. Loosely based on the ancient Greek epic poem, Homer's Iliad, the film recounts the invasion of the city of Troy by the united Greek forces and chronicles the fates of the men involved. Hector, a prince and renowned as the greatest warrior of Troy, can be seen wearing these armor pieces throughout the film.
The gauntlets are made primarily of cast urethane with a thin covering of foam padding on the underside of the piece for comfort when in use. They feature brown leather lace for cinching around an actor’s arm. Both pieces have been finished with a low gloss silver and gold paint scheme that creates the illusion on unpolished metal. The pieces remain in good condition. It comes framed in a custom built display with laser-cut mount board etched with the iconic movie title.
