Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Hadhafang - Sword of Arwen
United Cutlery movie prop weapon
This Arwen Sword is part of my Wifes Collection of items. Never actually noted in the books the inscription was taken from Tolkeins Own notes (all there was was the inscription.. not his intent) "Aen estar Hadhafang i chathol hen, thand arod dan i thang an i arwen, Idril i hel en aran Gond Dolen" Translated it says "[It] is called Throng-cleaver this broadsword-blade, [a] defence noble against the [enemy] throng for [a] noble-lady, Idril, daughter of the king [of the] Hidden Rock." Ironically while it claims to be made for Arwens Grandmother (the daughter of the King of Hidden Rock) it specifically says it was made for (A knoble lady) Arwens name translated is Knoble Lady..... Its constructed FAR after Tolkien Died yet still has the double meanings and steeped lore of his original works. Unfortunatly the inscription was shortned for the film so it would fit on the blade.
