Rod Serling's NIght Gallery, Grape Column Set Piece

A tall solomonic column of twisted grape clusters and leaves on a square base seen, with a mate, in Joan Crawford's apartment in the pilot to the series directed by Steven Spielberg. Eight years earlier, they made several apperances in Season 2 of THRILLER including A BECKONING GHOST and PREMATURE BURIAL. In the 1950s it was also used in glamour shots of Mamie Van Doren, Julie Addams, Mari Blanchard and Janet Leigh. Amazingly, Joan posed with these columns in a series of publicity shots for FEMALE ON THE BEACH 15 years before! Also, briefly seen in the COLUMBO episode LOVELY BUT LETHAL with Vera Miles.
