Original production made Gorilla soldier boots. The original gorilla boots made for the production were made from scratch. A pair of sneekers were the basis for this boot with a stove pipe leather boot glued to them and foam rubber molded over the shoe. A rubber soal was added to the bottom of the boot. These boots were later replaced for the riding scenes with boots modiifed from off-the-shelf riding boots which proved to be more robust. The original boots would not hold up well under the stress of riding.
