An entrenching tool used on the production of the Oscar-winning Steven Spielberg war epic Saving Private Ryan. This style of entrenching tool was carried by the German soldiers defending Omaha beach and Occupied France throughout the film. A functional tool, the shovel features a metal head with a wooden handle. A leather entrenching tool carrier with steel fixtures is present to attach it to a German soldier’s webbing belt.
