Xena: Warrior Princess, Gabrielle’s signature costume

Here is Gabrielle’s signature costume—in particular, one of the style worn by the Battling Bard in seasons 3 and 4 of the series. It includes Gabrielle’s trademark BGSB (or “Bilious Green Sports Bra”) with embroidered leaf motifs and wooden bead adornments; her very recognizable rust paneled skirt; and her embossed, painted belt. The top and skirt were originally sold during the online portion of the 2001 IAW auction and are hero components worn by Renée. The belt was added to the costume later, purchased from the in-person IAW warehouse sale in Burbank, which occurred the same weekend as the 2002 Xena Con in Pasadena. The belt is either a stand-in’s or a stuntie’s, denoted by a wardrobe tag affixed to the reverse side that reads “Gabrielle DBL.”
