Xena: Warrior Princess, Gabrielle’s blood innocence dagger (hero)

This is the screen-matched sacrificial hero dagger used by Renée O’Connor as Gabrielle in episodes of season 3: “The Deliverer” and “Gabrielle’s Hope.” It also makes an appearance in the season 3 episode “The Bitter Suite.” The dagger is a static prop cast in hard resin and electroplated to give the appearance of metal. There seems to be leftover faux blood residue on one face of the blade, and a distinct notch near the tip of the dagger allows it to be matched exactly to its on-screen appearance. The dagger is used in the scene in which Gabrielle loses her blood innocence by killing the Dahak cultist Meridian in an effort to defend Krafstar from an ostensible assassination attempt. It also appears in Gabrielle’s dream sequence in the following episode, in which the aforementioned notch near the tip is clearly visible.
