Here is Gabrielle’s peacenik costume from the latter half of season 4. The costume first appears in the episode “Devi” as part of the 3-episode India arc in which Gabrielle decides to abide by Eli’s pacifist “Way of Love” philosophy. It sticks around until “The Ides of March,” when Gabrielle snaps out of her pacifist fugue and chooses to save a paralyzed Xena from a contingent of Roman soldiers at the price of violence—“the way of friendship.” The costume includes a golden scoop-neck crop top with embroidered and beaded detailing, a print sarong-like skirt with a print front panel, and a patterned yellow sari. The wrist cuffs and the patterned waist sash that appear in the series were not included when this costume originally sold through the online It’s A Wrap! auction. According to the original auction lot description, this costume is one of only two versions of this costume that were auctioned off during the 2001 IAW online auction.
