Eugene Sledge's (Joseph Mazzello) Notebook / Prop Bible Stand-in

this one and only  prop Bible was carried by the character "Sledge" in his front USMC shirt pocket through out the series instead of the Hero Bible

the Hero Bible had to be kept in perfect condition so this Stand-in Bible was used in all battle action scenes that the character "Sledge" appeared in Peleliu / Peleliu Hills / Okinawa

since this Stand-in Bible would be subject to the elements, action and wear  Sledge would still have the tell-tale bulge in his front pocket without having to worry about damaging it

Stand-in Bible shows a well weathered state with dirt, grime and the creases from it's extended time in Sledge's pocket on set

Stand-in Bible is contained in it's original on set marked bag

Stand-in Bible has Joseph's scribbles while on set
