Eugene Sledge's (Joseph Mazzello) hero metal helmet worn in the 2010 TV mini-series.

The young Marine from Mobile, Alabama wore this in episode 9, matches well to a helmet worn during the nighttime rain in episode nine “Okinawa”. The helmet camouflage pattern matches the scene when the character Hamm is killed.

Labelled “Sledge” inside, the metal helmet has a complete liner with canvass straps and leather bands, and canvass chin straps still with their metal buckles. It is in a heavily distressed condition with sand and dirt ingrained into the cover fabric and caught between the helmet and liner.
