The Wedding March, Erich Von Stroheim Costume
original movie costume
A classic the "Man you Love to Hate" military uniform, worn as the Prince in the 1928 film he also directed. Although taken away from him, with the second half unreleased, it is possibly the most unaltered film he directed and indicitive of his exacting standards and excessiveness. He rejected the costumes made for him by Western Costume Co. and had them purchase original ones in Europe along with weapons and carriages. WCC has a page on their site to this effect. Also showing, an inaccurate pre WWI Austrian tunic with a correct Western Costume period label that might have been one of the tunics he rejected. The War Museum in Vienna called it "a Hollywood fantasy".
