In fifth season episode Savage Seduction, the grandmother of Pete's old girlfriend Kelly vanishes from reality and reappears as a family matriarch in her favorite Mexican telenovela, Seducción Salvaje, after the elderly woman's favorite brooch (a prop from the show) becomes an artifact, transformed by her fervent desire for the story to continue following the series' cancellation. Unfortunately, the enchanted brooch has disappeared into the show as well, forcing Pete, Myka and Artie to also enter the story (as over-the-top characters) in order to retrieve the artifact and rescue Grandma Hernandez.
