Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Dewey Cox's (John C. Reilly) Custom Walk Hard Record Award
original movie prop
Dewey Cox's (John C. Reilly) Custom Record Award from the 2007 Jake Kasdan comedy film, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. The film chronicles the rise and fall of fictional music legend, Dewey Cox.
This display was made for the scene in which Dewey professes his "song block" to Schwartzberg (David Krumholtz). In the scene, several record labels and framed Dewey Cox posters can be seen in the background. This particular award is framed in a 16x20 wood frame with a glass cover, and features a gold colored prop record and a recognition plaque indicating that 500,00 copies had sold.
The song "Walk Hard" the title track from the film, was written by my long time good friend singer/songwriter Marshall Crenshaw... the song, as sung by Reilly, was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
