The shorter version of Darth Maul's double-bladed lightsaber was never present onscreen, but can be found in behind the scenes footage. Reportedly the original Maul saber design, the 'Mini' Maul proved too difficult for Ray Park to wield without intermittent contact of the blades with his arms and legs, which in the CGI world of TPM would have resulted in instant self-amputation.
