Leprechaun 2, Darkside Tours Logo Design Drawing
original production artwork
“Welcome, death seekers. I am Baron Von Cody-stein, your substitute usher into the Darkside. Our cruising altitude this afternoon will be six feet under. If there’s anything we can do to make your tour more terrifying, please do not hesitate to scream.”
This original 8.5” x 11” logo design pencil and marker drawing on paper by Emmy-winning art director and production designer Anthony Tremblay was used during the making of the horror-comedy sequel Leprechaun 2 (1994). The Darkside Tours motif adorns several props throughout the movie, including brochures, tickets, and the decals applied to the sightseeing hearse’s driver and passenger side doors.
When Cody (Charlie Heath) finds his conman uncle, Morty (Sandy Baron), too inebriated to drive, he drags along his girlfriend, Bridget (Shevonne Durkin), to shuttle a group of impressionable tourists around the Hollywood Hills to gawk at so-called celebrity “murder houses.”
Among the passengers seated in the back include B-movie royalty Clint Howard (Ice Cream Man [1995]) and Kimmy Robertson of Twin Peaks (1990-1991) notoriety.
The illuminated sign on the roof of the hearse stayed in Lionsgate’s Trimark Pictures warehouse inventory storage up until early 2002, when it was then sold via an online auction.
