This helmet was used during the “Attack of the Cybermen”, the first episode of the 22nd season of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who on January 5th, 1985. The BBC produced the show from 1963-89. It was relaunched in 2005 and continues today. Doctor Who has become a national institution in the United Kingdom and has built a large audience around the world. Director Steven Spielberg commented that “the world would be a poorer place without Doctor Who.”
