Ewen McGregor wore this crest on the sleeve of his uniform. He hands it to Jack right before he goes back to get the crown.
”There's something behind me, isn't there?”
A hero metal beanstalk crest tool from Brian Singer’s 2013 fantasy adventure Jack the Giant Slayer.
Young farmboy Jack (Nicholas Hoult) is obsessed with the legend of the giant-beating King Erik – as is Princess Isabelle (Eleanor Tomlinson). When asked to sell his uncle’s horse, Jack gullibly trades it for a bag of magic beans which release a giant beanstalk that extends to the giants’ skybound home. When Isabelle is taken prisoner by the giants, Jack and some of the king’s men must go to her rescue.
When climbing down the beanstalk with Isabelle, Jack pulled a metal Kingdom of Cloister crest like this one from his pocket to cut a liana loose to help them swing to safety.
Made from cast metal, the pewter-coloured crest features a shield with triangular wings on each side and the central image of a beanstalk. Tendril details are fashioned at either side of the shield, and the initial ‘B.R.’ are embossed at the bottom. The top of the badge features a royal lion and crown. The crest has a curved design, allowing it to be held or mounted practically.
Production-distressed for a weathered look, the piece shows only minor wear from use and remains in very good overall condition.
