The Richard A. Coyle 2019 Detective Special Model CS has a functional spring back Metal Trigger and Metal Hammer action.
The four indicator lights located on the left and right sides of the magazine in the proper LED mounts light up, and there is the fifth one in the bottom of the ammo clip as well; the circuit is activated through a pair of small holes on the left side of the magazine housing, just as they were in the real prop.
This was confirmed by the Prop Master on the film.
Note Version 4.8 Version now has LED holders as did the film prop, smaller screws in the butt plate and round head screws holding the Grips, all details learned this year.
This model also has a working bolt with real cocking action and a swing open cylinder with fake bullets that you can remove and replace. The removing of the ammo housing to open the cylinder is again film accurate, the prop maker left the functional cartridge ejector intact so that the prop master could easily reload the weapon on the set. (This was how the real film prop fired, it used blanks with special loads for extra flash).
This is the culmination of over ten months of research, sweat, long distance phone calls, late nights, frustration, countless gun shows, commitment, and most of all, hours and hours of dedication on the part of Richard A. Coyle and Phil Steinschneider.
This model has gone though many updates and revisions as more was learned about the film and more details were found out about this great Film prop. That is why this is called Version Four, it is the forth version of this model with all the latest and all the correct details possible to be known to fan and man.
Needless to say, this is probably one of the most anticipated and loved science fiction models ever produced.
This model is made of polyurethane castings, this is the only material that can capture all the super fine details on the writing and fine detail of the Steyr Receiver and Bulldog pistol so you receiver the MOST accurate model possible. Taken from a mold made by recreating the work done by the prop makers working on the film, where they took a Bulldog 44 and a Steyr SL Rifle and combined them into the unreal prop weapon.
This piece is fully build up and painted with the Working LEDS, Trigger, Hammer action and swing out Cylinder as show in the pictures.
