A former Corellian Security investigator and pilot with the New Republic’s Rogue Squadron, Corran Horn was also one of the first students of Luke Skywalker's Jedi Praxeum, but left the academy before completing his training to search for his kidnapped wife Mirax. While undercover among the Invid pirates, Horn created his own lightsaber from a junked speeder bike handle and other scavenged parts. The process of building this saber was described in unique detail in Michael Stackpole’s classic first-person Expanded Universe novel I, Jedi. In addition to using a speeder bike throttle assembly for the hilt, Horn used three gemstone crystals (durindfire, diamond, & emerald) to make his saber dual-phase, capable of instantly doubling in length through controlled crystal realignment.
This lightly weathered, duelable replica recreates Horn’s blade in both letter and spirit. Diamond crosshatched pattern on machined aluminum hilt, copper neck detail, powder-coated media-blasted control box and emitter. LedEngin 10W RGBW LED with active blue and white dies recreating Horn’s distinctive silvery blade color. Plector Labs Petit Crouton board with custom sound font, multiple motion-sensitive sound, light, and rumble effects, and flashing red and green power indicators. Auxiliary switch for dual-phase extended blade activation sound effect. Concealed recharge port and kill switch, accessed by unscrewing the pommel as described in I, Jedi. Separate recessed kill switch near the control box; easily accessible but cannot be accidentally activated while dueling. 7.4V lithium ion battery pack. Detailed removable crystal chamber, containing 3 different crystals.
