Highlander: The Series, Collarless Dragon Katana

Custom made replica by Daryl Kyle of Texas Steel Props and replicas. Built with the exact same parts as the original. The Tsuka (handle) is cast from the Marto "Sword of the Dragon" and made of carbon kevlar. The Rooster tsuba (handguard), fuchi (handle's collar under the tsuba), habaki (blade's collar) and stainless steel blade were all taken from a 90's "Marto Sword of the Dragon". The blade's tang was extended to 11 inches making it full tang and double pinned into the tsuka(handle) by two hidden mekugi pins that go through the blade's tang. The habaki (blade's collar) doesn't have the Marto logo stamp and the tsuka (handle) doesn't have the bronze collar on the dragon's neck as this replica is intended to look exactly the same as the first generation Marto Sword of the Dragon katana as seen when it first appeared on screen late in season 2 of the T.V. series. The first generation Marto Sword of the dragon didn't have the bronze collar on the handle nor the Marto logo stamp on the habaki. Halfway into the third season Marto added the bronze collar on the dragon's neck which the series' production crew painted white or covered with white adhesive medical (cloth) tape to make it unnoticeable. In late season 4 Marto added their logo stamp on the habaki and in season 5, the series' production crew stopped painting/covering the bronze collar on the handle and it started showing.
