Forbidden Planet, C57D STARCRUISER

This is my build-up of the C57D saucer craft from the classic film Forbidden Planet.  The model was built pretty much right from the box with

just a few 'enhancements'.  Rather than paint each control panel, I used Photoshop to create new facings for each panel, adding as much detail

as possible.  I added lighting to the interior, to the stairway, and of course I installed animated (moving) lighting to the engine pod below the ship.

I also scratch-built a 20"x20" display base for the C57D, topping it with a dessert landscape using real sand and rocks (pebbles) and boulders (rocks).

To finish off the scene, I put Robby The Robot on guard duty in the foreground.
