Star Trek: Voyager, Brother Mobar Religious Talisman

original movie prop

When two reclusive monks are accidentally disturbed by Neelix and Paris in sixth season episode Live Fast and Prosper, their expressions of faith are punctuated by the pulsating green light of the icon worn by Brother Mobar. Unfortunately for Voyager, this pendant also happens to be a sophisticated scanning device, which the con men use to download the entire Federation database from the Delta Flyer; identity theft, 24th century style.

The pulsating green dome light features prominently in this episode.  A different set of light effects are seen when The Doctor uses the same device as a Cardassian medical instrument earlier in fifth season episode Nothing Human; and with a different paint scheme, when used by Devore inspectors to scan for illegal telepathic refugees believed to be hiding aboard Voyager in fifth season episode Counterpoint.

Resin and metal hero prop, one of two made, with a bright pulsating green dome light, including variable pulsation rate controlled by a small potentiometer accessed from the back.  Purple scanning LEDs, recessed orange lights, and backlit display area activated by either of two small switches on the prop face.
