Drive, Bernie Rose's (Albert Brooks) straight razor
original movie prop
This is one of apparently only two straight razors used by the character "Bernie Rose," portrayed by actor Albert Brooks, in the 2011 motion picture "Drive." The Goldedge "Dubl Duck" model razor is attached to a folding mother of pearl handle with gold details. It still has small dried blood stains on the blade, and inside the pearl handle.
Mr. Brooks uses this in the scene when he confronts "Shannon" (Bryan Cranston) at the auto shop as he is secretly preparing to leave town. After unsuccessfully trying to find the whereabouts of "Driver" (Gosling), Bernie (Brooks) slashes Shannon's arm with the razor and leaves him to die. The razor was also seen clearly in a subsequent scene where Bernie washes the blood off of it before replacing it in his custom knife display box at home. The prop razor is in excellent screen used condition, and came with its case mentioning "(2) Bernie's straight razors".
Certainly one of my favorite props !
Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the Golden Closet.
