Doctor Who, Baker Sonic Screwdriver (Rassilon Mark III)

This Is A very nice! Replica Of the Classic Sonic like the one used by Tom Baker.

This was a kit I Ordered from Rassilon with the Upgraded Brass halo Ring. I really enjoyed assembling and painting this Sonic. I first striped it down to its parts then Used some 0000 Steel Wool and gave it a nice shine. I then painted the Neck with A hammered black and the Emitter with a satin black. As you can see I removed the paint of the tips of the Emitter to show the Aluminum. After wards I masked off the 3 groves on the mid body and the one on the lower body and painted that with a satin black and stopped there for now.

My project was on hold till today (10/10/12) when my Metallic Red paint arrived for the Halo ring. before painting the ring I epoxied the head's struts and central bullet sections together and  attempted to mask off the ring but failed so I decided to fill inside the ring Halo with tissue paper and then Paint. The red metallic came out beautifully after doing about 3 coats to make sure it went on evenly. After removal of the tissue paper I used a soft detailing brush and gently removed the paint from the edges of the ring on both sides with Asetone and any over spray inside the ring to expose the brass finish.
