The Buck Rogers movie serial (1930s) featured some wonderfully imaginative, if not a little bizzare, prop and space-ship designs. The one prop that really intrigued me was the odd looking little ray gun carried by the villian's henchmen. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any really clear images of this old prop and vid-clipsprovided only a general concept of what it looked like - so, even though I built this replica I haveno idea just how accurate (or inaccurate) it is. I scratch-built this prop-replica from sheet styrene, vacu-formed styrene (grips and side panels) and styrene tubes (emitters). The replica is equipped with a buzzing sound effect and LEDs in the three (3) beam emitters.
